Don Diablo
De 23-jarige DJ/producer is een uiterst creatief persoon en heel goed weet wat hij wil. Voor alles merk je dat Don Diablo zich niet in een hokje laat stoppen. Met zijn artiestennaam Don Diablo maakt hij een mix tussen verschillende muziekstijlen - electro, rock en hiphop. Commercieel succes was er in 2006 met zijn singles Who’s Your Daddy?, Blow, Never Too Late en I Need To Know. Diablo is eigenaar van 2 platenlabels, Sellout Sessions en Middle of the Road.
Hij groeide op in het Drentse dorpje Dalen, vlakbij de Duitse grens. Hij hield zich al op jonge leeftijd bezig met muziek en film. Vanaf zijn tiende maakte hij korte films (met andermans muziek eronder gemonteerd) die soms werden uitgezonden door muziekzender The Box. Enkele jaren later besloot hij zelf muziek voor de filmpjes te maken. Ondertussen ging hij op 14-jarige leeftijd draaien in een locale discotheek. Hij stelde op zijn vijftiende zijn eerste album samen en prompt kwam dat album bij een platenmaatschappij terecht. Tot zijn 21e maakte hij ongeveer 20 platen. Rond 2000 breekt Diablo ook door in Groot-Brittanië. Hij treedt op in de grootste clubs van Groot-Brittannië en heeft gedraaid voor organisaties als Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Creamfields, Ministry of Sound en Turnmills. Ook heeft Diablo een oudjaarsshow in het Millennium Dome in Londen gedaan. In Nederland heeft hij opgetreden op onder andere Dance Valley, Extrema Outdoor en Innercity.
Onder het platenlabel van ID&T / Universal Music brengt Don Diablo in 2004 zijn debuutalbum 2 Faced uit. Onder andere Marco Hovius van de band 16 Down heeft zijn stem aan het album verleend. Don Diablo verzorgt het instrumentale gedeelte. In 2006 produceert Diablo met de Britse hiphop-artiest Shystie de single ‘I Need To Know’. Deze single wordt ook gebruikt voor de promotie van de Hollywoodfilm Snakes On A Plane. Op de B-side van de single staat het nummer Sudderen, een project van Diablo met rapper producer Kubus en rapper Extince. Ook maakte Diablo met de Amerikaanse producer Jason Nevins een remix van Who Knew, een single van zangeres Pink. In februari 2007 kwam het nieuwe album Respect doesn't Pay the Bills van Diablo uit.

Dutch DJ / producer Don Diablo was born and raised in Holland and is currently working on rapidly expanding his discography in between his global touring schedule. After scoring multiple top 5 hits on Beatport with records like “AnyTime”, “Starlight”, “On My Mind” and “Chemicals” he also became an in demand remixer. His current portfolio includes names like Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and many others. Besides this Don has collaborated and produced for artists like Kelis, Alex Clare, Example, Dragonette and Tiesto to name a few.
Earlier this year he launched his “HEXAGON” record label, the first release, Don’s remix of Alex Adair’s “Make Me Feel Better”, held the no. 1 position on Beatport for over two weeks. An obvious dream start for a label with a great future ahead. Warner Brothers also asked Don to create the worldwide theme song for the highly anticipated “Batman Arkham Origins” game. The track and the accompanying video became an instant viral hit racking up millions of Youtube plays.
Don’s firm radio support in tastemaker countries like the U.K. and the U.S.A. introduced the Dutchman to a wider audience this year. His own HEXAGON radio show is currently aired in over 35 countries and holds a solid top 10 position in the iTunes podcast section every week, thus reaching millions of people across the planet. His packed travel schedule rockin’ nearly every major club and festival around the world as well as his residency at Vegas superclub “Hakkasan” are also evident proof of his ever growing worldwide fan base. Don’s many other passion projects like directing music videos, working on movie soundtracks and setting up his own fashion brand make it even more clear that it is safe to assume you can expect to hear a lot more from the ambitious Dutchman in the years to come.
